Hotel El Moro

Great place close to the beach. The rooms were really spacious for my family of 5, giving us enough room to spread out! The added kitchen and dining area was nice too. Super close to the beach, malecon and chedraui grocery store. The pool is really nice for cooling off. The breakfast is good but near the end of our stay we were sick of it. Lots of scuba dive shops a walk away.

Dear Travellers, We spent a night here, which had its pros and cons. Yes, as other people stated, it can be loud into the evening. If that is a problem don't stay here. It has sub par water pressure and warm water, firm mattress. Again, you get what you pay for. However, that is overshadowed by its imperfect charm, location, great breakfast and amazing happy staff. Because of its great location you are right in the hustle and lively atmosphere of this beach town's core. It is a short walk to great beaches and phenomenal snorkeling. This isn't a great long-term stay but a great choice for a night or two.

This is my second time staying at this hotel in two years, I stayed 6 nights both times. I enjoyed it both times, had the deluxe room, large size,comfortable firm mattresses with clean sheets and 4 pillows, excellent air conditioner, fridge, generally quite, there is bit of live music sound from restaurants next door which is expected as it’s location is central to many restaurants. The staff were friendly and attentive, the breakfast was nice and enjoyable served in the courtyard under giant trees. It also has a rooftop area where one can enjoy a drink with ocean views. The hot water was hit and miss this time, I didn’t mind it as it’s a tropical place and luke warm or cool shower is ok. The safe was missing which they replaced as requested. The hotel is very safe. t’s a perfect hotel for the price.

El Moro is my go to hotel when visiting Puerto Morelos. It’s a quaint, lovingly maintained property with charming, simple rooms and serene outdoor spaces. The breakfast courtyard enjoys the shade of a massive, majestic Banyan tree. The pool is small, but well-maintained and the surrounding patio provides several spots to get out of direct sun. Most rooms, at least in the rear buildings, have generous balcony/patio space immediately in front. The staff is consistently warm and accommodating. The buffet breakfast has enough choices that you’ll always find something you like (and I love that I could just keep refilling my coffee cup). The property is small and intimate enough that you’ll feel comfortable striking up conversations with fellow guests. I’ve stayed in four or five different rooms throughout the property, and all seemed well-maintained (maybe I needed fresh batteries for a TV remote once, but even then, the staff was quick to help). The value I’ve gotten, especially when I book “early bird”, has been great. And you really just can’t beat the location — so close and convenient to everything. If you like to travel on a budget while still being treated to friendly service and comfortable accommodations, El Moro is a great option.
